Glean Terms of Use

Effective Date: October 11, 2026

Glean is made by QuantaCore Labs ("we", "us"). These terms apply to the Glean app and its web pages. By using Glean you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use Glean.

Glean is not an emergency service. If you are in immediate danger, call your local emergency number (911 in Canada and the United States).

1. What Glean does

Glean helps you find food banks, shelters and crisis lines near you, and lets people share food and other things they do not need. Place listings come from Google Maps and from organizations. They can be wrong or out of date, so call a place before you go. Glean does not run, inspect or vouch for any place it lists.

Glean is not a government app. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or acting for any government or government agency. The emergency and crisis numbers it shows are public services that Glean does not run; their official sources are 911.gov and samhsa.gov in the United States, canada.ca in Canada, and 211.org and 211.ca for 211.

2. Accounts and age

3. Rules for posting and meeting

4. We do not tolerate objectionable content or abusive people

We remove posts that break these rules, and we can suspend or close the account behind them, without notice. You can report any post, any person and any AI answer from inside the app, and you can block any person so that you no longer see their posts. Reports go to a person at QuantaCore Labs, who reviews every report within 24 hours and removes the content, or the account, if it breaks these rules. The person you report cannot see who reported them.

5. What you post

What you post stays yours. By posting it you allow us to show it in Glean to other people so the service can work. Posts, including the meeting place you type and the map pin, can be seen by anyone using Glean. You are responsible for what you post.

6. Food, goods and meeting people

Glean does not inspect, store, transport or deliver anything. People who give food away are responsible for it being safe to eat; people who take it decide for themselves whether to use it. Meeting someone you found through Glean is your own choice and at your own risk. Follow the safety advice in the app, and leave if anything feels wrong.

7. The AI Guide

The Guide is an AI assistant run by Google (Gemini). It only works after you confirm you are 18 or older and agree to what is sent. Its answers can be wrong. It does not give medical, legal or emergency advice. Check details with the place itself before you rely on them.

8. Google Maps

Glean uses Google Maps features and content. Your use of them is subject to the Google Maps/Google Earth Additional Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy.

9. No guarantees

Glean is provided as it is, without guarantees of any kind. We try to keep it accurate and running, but we cannot promise that listings are correct, that a place is open, that an item is still available, or that the app will always work. To the extent the law allows, QuantaCore Labs is not liable for loss or harm that comes from using Glean, from items exchanged through it, or from meeting other people through it. Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under the law where you live.

10. Changes

We may update these terms. When we do, we change the date at the top. If you keep using Glean after a change, you accept the new terms.
